I’d be less concerned with whatever Taco Bell is planning to do with their menu or their potato crops right now and more concerned with your spelling and grammar right now…which is fine overall, until we get to the part “they’re menu”. It sounds correct, but it is not. Why? It sounds correct because “they’re” (INCORRECT) and “their” (CORRECT) are homonyms, along with another cousin “there” (INCORRECT). We just need to communicate to the reader, WHOSE m’fk’n menu it is that we’re talking about, that’s all. So, we’ve got two choices, use the proper noun again and sound a little strange or use a possessive pronoun, the better choice. Taco Bell wouldn’t be messing with McDonald’s menu or Jack In The Box’s menu, would they? No. Taco Bell only messes with THEIR menu, nobody else’s. “THEY’RE” means “THEY ARE”, so the meme is actually telling us “Taco Bell is taking potatoes off they are menu”, which makes no sense. I’d even add in the word “of” after the word “off”, to give us, “Taco Bell is taking potatoes off of their menu.”. B.) Did He-Man and Barbie have a kid at some point? I’m not familiar with the cartoon character in the meme here, but it looks like it might be the lovechild of He-Man and Barbie that I guess is their daughter, but she’s 90% He-Man and 10% Barbie. C.) If it does turn out that Taco Bell removes potatoes from their menu after all, I wonder if it’s to make room for new menu items…like taint enchiladas or something, who knows. -- source link
