In the DC Super Hero Girls episode #FightAtTheMuseum, we get what is meant to be the debut of the show’s version of Catwoman, and from her comment at the episode’s end this is another episode which is meant to come before the earlier #Beeline show.Designwise, this version of Selina is wearing a variation of the Batman: the Animated Series costume, albeit with modern era mask and goggles, whereas vocally voice actress Cree Summer homages Eartha Kitt, one of the Catwomen from the 1960s Batman show.Interestingly, the show is emphasising how smart Selina is more than previous incarnations, which, yeah, she is one of Batman’s smartest non-mad scientist rogues, it’s just not a characteristic previous writers tend to focus on very often. In BTAS she was more defined by her relationship with Bruce, her animal rights activism, and eventually just her desire to steal stuff, rather than her ability to plan heists and accurately predict other people’s behaviour.Selina as a criminal mastermind is more something from the more recent comics (personally I’d place it as something from the Darwyn Cooke run onwards) is definitely a more engaging character trait than endless cat puns, to me at least. -- source link
