tenebrum:Epitaphs are telling stories … One of a lot so called “journeyman graves” in Nuremberg. This are graves where unmarried journeymen of one guild were buried together, mass graves. Here you can see the grave of the barbers. In old times the barbers did not only cut hair … You see from left to right: scissors for hair cuts, curved scissors to spread stab wounds, next instrument is nebulous, looks like a typical thumbscrew, maybe used to trepan the cranium, next one is a cutting blade (for hair!), below an ointment box, last one is a special knife for venesection, but also used for pulling of teeth.
