Ever since I started making fires in the wood oven, Morille has taken to moving her kittens inside the hearth at night so they can sleep in the warm ashes. I feel bad for evicting her from this great new nest but her children were scattering ashes all over my house, so I built an anti-cat gate with hazel rods to close the hearth. It was really easy but like an idiot I put all the thin ends on the same side and all the thick ends on the other, so it looks a bit askew. But I was too lazy to unweave everything and start over. Maybe later. Everything in this house is a bit crooked and uneven anyway, even the floors and ceilings.Baby Pampe was, as always, very intrigued by my activities. Her mum and donkey uncle were taking a nap so she’s the one who got to eat all the leaves from the hazel branches I was cutting. She had a good day! -- source link
