zooophagous:wheremyscalesslither:Not all paint is created equal!! Here is our trans Pecos rat snake painting a masterpiece of his own using tempera paint which is made of egg, and is completely edible (though not tasty- don’t try it) and animal safe. This process has been deemed safe by animal care professionals around the globe including animal care staff at zoos and vets as well.Painting can be wonderfully enriching for many different species! The second image shows pairings from trans pecos rat snakes, tigers, jaguar, and anteaters! The tiger likes to lick the purple best. I don’t know why. It doesn’t taste any different from the rest.I’ve done snake paintings in the past similar to these! (Except I made my own paint out of a cornstarch mixture and food dye) it’s a fun project and it can be done safely.Much better than covering a snake (or any other animal) in craft store acrylics. -- source link
