Ms. Codex 1206 - De MerlesThis manuscript features memoirs and accounts of Francois de Merles. The author writes of his time spent in Rome, along with his studies in Avignon and Pavia. He also refers to such contemporaries as Pope Alexander VI and his son Cesare Borgia, and there are frequent mentions of the plague. The biographical entries end around the year 1510: much of the remainder of the book is a combination of biographical notes alongside accounts. Many of the entries after this point have been crossed out, but are still fully legible. It was written in Latin (but with some marginal notes in French) between 1475 and 1525 CE.Click here for the facsimile, or here for additional information. -- source link
