A French flintlock musket issued to the Garde du Corps du Roi.The Garde du Corps was the elite cavalry unit of the French monarchy and personal guard of the king. The muskets they used were specially made at the St. Ettiene Armory, with each musket being identified as being issued to the Guard in gold lettering, along with the Bourbon Royal Crest. This particular musket was produced after 1815, proceeding the final defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte and the restoration of the monarchy under King Louis XVIII. -- source link
