#Repost @yvetteactually (@get_repost)・・・If you think you’re progressive or an ally because you think we need immigrants to do the work no one will, what you’re really saying is that you believe the exploitation of immigrant POC is necessary and should continue unchecked for your comfort. The fact that brown bodies are thought to have some kind of super stamina is based in the colonial mindset that “proved” through slavery that we were some kind of special race of laborers. It also speaks to how we devalue the bodies of the people who keep the country running by working themselves to death –but can barely feed their families. Capitalism demands complete POC immigrant productivity and at the same time tell us that immigrants ain’t worth shit because they ONLY do manual “unskilled” labor. Fuck that. I’m tired of “good liberals” praising how hard immigrant POC work because guess what? They work without fair pay, without breaks, without benefits, without days off, without proper safety equipment– you are praising their exploitation.
