socialistexan:mythiass:nosylard:so on top of the FCC voting to repeal Net Neutrality, fundamentally our basic right for access to equal internet, but Trump quite literally BANNED “evidence based” words in the CDC’s budget report for next year. As in, restricting freedom of speech. hey gays please blow this up he’s trying to ban our existence basicallymy response to some questions about this post: http://nosylard.tumblr.com/post/168625754136/nosylard-so-on-top-of-the-fcc-voting-to-repealInternet isn’t a right and this isn’t a freedom of speech issue, the CDC is not an individual, is not a part of the press, and does not have the same rights as you. But you don’t care about that, do you? The Right to Internet Access is tied directly to the Freedoms of Speech and Assembly, so that’s one that you’re entirely wrong on. It is a means to enable those two rights and barring access bars people from expressing those rights fully. Seeing as corporations are essentially mini-governments with their own executive administration, rules and regulations, and top-down hierarchy, but with little to no public input (or at least less than the Government itself), I think they should follow the same rules. This specific instance may or may not be a a Freedom of Speech issue, it is government censorship and borderline new-speak-esque language policing. It is also 100% political correctness in the absolute core of the definition as it follows the “correct” line of thinking in a political ideology with backing of the state as a way to silence or minimize opposition. It’s also virtue signaling lol.But you’re okay with this? You call yourself a libertarian, but say the Government has right to do this? -- source link
