The pond is made from the garden tub (wide and shallow) that was found in the crazy Glamour Bathroom that the original owners of the property had constructed. It had a wine rack integrated into the bathroom stall and all the skylights leaked.Now it’s a happy home for our plant, frog, and toad friends.Visible: lotus, water lily, lizard’s tail (native), equisetum (native), spearmint, Lobelia (native, not blooming yet), Monarda (native, the red blooms), swamp sunflower (native, not blooming yet), and in the distance some Elderberry and Locust.For those with good memories, you’ll note that I pulled out all the Typha / cattail. THAT was an ordeal, wrestling with the massive root system in winter. As it turns out they can spread like crazy… cannot recommend.The black pipe at the bottom of the picture originates at our outdoor sink. Any excess water from the sink helps to feed the pond. -- source link
