harrypotterconfessions:Why does no one ever talk abt that time in GOF when Draco made fun of the idea of Hermione getting s*xually harassed? Like did everyone go blind when reading that sene? I tried so hard to like him, but as a girl who was once in that situation and worse, I just can’t stand him after he said that. And ppl ship them together? After reading that? A 10 yr old knows not to joke abt that I’m sure Draco would too. Anyways whatever butters ur biscuit. Sure he might’ve not meant it, but I can’t stomach that fact that he joked abt it. Don’t get me wrong he is an interesting character, and him not saying Harry’s name might’ve been the start to redeeming himself, but I just keep going back to what he said to her and I just can’t stand him, I loathe him entirely. Like I’m glad that he got better in cursed child. I’m glad Astoria was there to set his ass straight! Such a badass bitch that woman. She deserves better not Draco.There is a part of the phandom that is deliberately blind so they can avoid coming across with every shitty and dreadful thing Draco ever did. They prefer to live in denial and accept fabricated headcannons so they can present Draco as a misunderstood abused sweet boy who was secretly trying to warn and help the trio. Yes believe it or not this is the interpretation of Hermiones sexual harassment scene by Draco stans(he was trying to warn them ) even though there is nothing in the books to support this argument.Btw in Malfoy manor Draco didn’t exactly recognize Harry and the others but he didn’t exactly say it wasn’t them either. He said he wasn’t sure and he did that so their fates wouldn’t be determined by him. He didn’t want the Burden of people dieing because of him. He main concern was to save his conscience not the trio. Not the best base to build a redemption arc if you ask me, we are not sure if Draco even wanted redemption. -- source link
