Keening was a legendary blade crafted by the Dwemer chief tonal architect Lord Kagrenac. It was one of the three Tools of Kagrenac that were used to tap into the power of the Heart of Lorkhan. Its role was to “flay and focus the power that rises from the heart”.In 4E 201, Keening was delivered to Skyrim by the request of the mage Arniel Gane of the College of Winterhold.
