This week, we are featuring Denis Diderot’s Encyclopedia. This encyclopedia was first published between 1751 and 1777 in several volumes as the Encyclopédie, ou Dictionnaire des sciences, des arts et des métiers. The first edition has 35 volumes, 23,135 pages, and at least 3000 engraved plates. Thus, it is a comprehensive way to discover the state of science and technology during the 18th century. These photos of the circulatory, nervous, and skeletal systems come from the anatomy section of the Encyclopedia.Images from Diderot Encyclopedia: The Complete Illustrations, 1762-1777 (AE25 .E5322 1978 VOL. 1 http://bit.ly/2DZB4EK) -- source link
