Eva Zeisel, Cloverware serving set, 1947. Acrylic plastic. USA. Via WrightDuring WWII the Clover Box Company made windshields for fighter planes, after the war they were looking for a new project. Eva Zeisel – the industrial designer known for her pottery – experimented with biomorphic shapes. The goal was twofold: to create „free, lively forms in plastic“ and to introduce the newly developped acrylics as a suitable material for tableware. -- source link
