stephrc79:katsdisturbed:capsgrantrogers:Steve Rogers vs Steve RogersAvengers: Endgame (2019)This was one the most unbelievable scenes to me. Not that Steve wouldn’t attempt to kick his own ass given the opportunity. But that 2012 Steve, pretty much fresh out of the ice, would get the upper hand. Endgame Steve has been trained up. Quite well in fact. You can see it in Winter Soldier and Civil War. None of that comes out in this fight. And I don’t know…it bugged me.It’s psychological. 2012 Steve thinks it’s Loki, 2023 Steve knows it’s himself. Whether he means to or not, he’s holding back because while Steve may have no sense of self preservation, he‘s not going to go out of his way to injure himself. On top of that, 2012 Steve is still in that ‘I have nothing anymore so I have nothing to lose’ mindset. 2023 Steve knows exactly what he can lose. It’s why he mentions Bucky. He can’t truly win physically – he can’t make himself do actual damage to his own person – but he knows just what buttons to push to get the upper hand to stop himself. Agree. I liked how this fight went. -- source link
