gelatinadeleche:gelatinadeleche:It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about skin care, but I’ve got some new followers, and thought I’d add this. I love my winter skin care regimen because I can throw anything on it, and my skin will eat it up. Summer is so messy and ugly–with me trying to control my greasy melting peach face. Here’s what I do every night. In the morning I just clean my face real quick with cold water and some Vanicream soap.Layering Products:1. If you’re feeling fancy, go for a face mask a few times a week before starting out. 2. Wash your face. I’m going to assume you already have a favorite product to use. I exfoliate every three days with a facial buff sponge to remove all the dead skin. There’s a soft side and a rougher side, and I use the soft side around my face and the rough side on my T-Zone where I have a lot of oil build up. 3. Serums. After my face is nice and clean I’ll apply a serum, because the consistency is the thinnest out of all my post wash products. Right now I’m into this generic Vitamin C serum that I got at Marshall’s, and I’m seeing more results than I do with the $40 bottle of Nutriganics stuff from The Body Shop that’s supposed to be amazing. Lies. I love the Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum, but I’m broke so my cheapie one is working fine.FIVE SUPER ANTI-AGING ANTIOXIDANTS YOUR SKIN NEEDS NOWAbove is a useful article on the benefits of adding an antioxidant serum into your beauty regimen. You can read it and see which one you think is best suited for your skin and look for another product because the only “suggestions” are from Paula’s Choice, and for a lot of people her stuff isn’t in their price range. I love checking out the skincare at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx! I go to browse and always Google a million products before deciding on which ones to get.4. Oil/Plumping Liquids. For the time being I’m alternating between a generic hyaluronic acid and Ole Henricksen’s Black Currant Perfecting Complexion Oil. I found it for $7 at Marshall’s and stocked up, but it’s still on their website for $32 but it’s awesome. When I run out I’ll probably end up repurchasing. It smells amazing and it’s super light and doesn’t take forever to settle into your skin. I have combination skin so I worried about putting oil on my face, but it’s just so so soft. Other great essential oils you can use are rosehip and jojoba! 5. Moisturizer. At night I rotate a million moisturizers: Pond’s Rejuveness Anti Wrinkle Cream, Pond’s Clarant B3 (this is a color correcting cream and WILL lighten your skin -__-) L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler Day/Night Cream or Nieva Creme. During the day I skip moisturizer and wait for the complexion oil to dry and use Olay Regenerist Lotion with SPF 50. 6. Massage. a few times I week I’ll do the Gankin Facial Massage when applying my moisturizer for the night. Here’s a link to a similar face massage with provided gifs for instruction. Be wary of massaging because it helps to flush your lymph nodes and can cause dizziness. 7. Sheet Masks. Not really necessary; but I can’t help doing the most. I like to top off my face with a sheet mask before bed a few times a week. Normally I’ll pass out and wake up with the mask still damp on the pillow next to me, but my face is dewy and radiant.Note: It’s best to wait for each product to dry before applying the next. Wait a couple minutes from the time you apply serum, oil, moisturizer etc. If you’re feeling real fancy you can follow the 10 Step Version of this with Korean skin care, which includes toner, mists and ampoules. This whole post is really heavy and probably too much for someone with sensitive or acne prone skin, but the concept is the same. You just have to find the right products for your skin type and integrate them into your skin care routine. Keep readingWow look at me, so detailed! -- source link
