cumberbatchweb:Sherlocked at LFCC.Attended London Film and Comic Con yesterday to watch the Sherlocked preview talk attended by Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue.Moderated by David Bickerstaff the talk was free to attend and proved hugely popular with the hall filling up quickly keen to hear #TeamSherlock discuss the hit show. And Sue, Steven and Mark didn’t disappoint with a fun and lively discussion.Naturally all concerned were keeping things close to their chest with every question about series 4 being met with the refrain “Watch series 4!”Mark confirmed that he and Steven have series 4 and 5 all planned out having plotted it together during a day of series 3 filming while squirrelled away in a trailer somewhere escaping from the cold. Mark and Steven said that when it came to series 4 they’d done a lot of the big Conan Doyle canon early for the fun of it and were now looking at their favourite stories and favourite moments from stories to include in the new series. They were all a little astonished about the continuing success of the show and the amount of media interest it generates with Mark astounded that the recent announcement of Sherlock’s re-commission had been “breaking news”. A question about whether there was one definitive answer to how Sherlock faked his death was met with the answer that the version of events provided in the show is correct and that it is only Anderson who doubts Sherlock’s response. Steven said that none of the actors are very like their characters and that Benedict was very different to Sherlock. “He’d be rubbish at crime scenes. He’d wander around looking for a double late and a car home”. Although Mark said that his similarities to Mycroft were that he had “exquisite dress sense, a nice bottom and power”. When asked why he wanted to play Mycroft Mark joked “Money. And power” before going on to the tell the tale of them wanting to throw the audience in A Study in Pink into believing that he was Moriarty. Also the three piece suit he wears in one of the early episodes is actually his. There was some discussion about the trickiest character to write (Sherlock because of his deductions but also John to ensure that Martin has a proper co-lead role and isn’t just constantly gasping in surprise at Sherlock’s brilliance). It was a fun and entertaining talk and delightful to see the hall absolutely bursting to the seams with people eager to hear the Sherlock creators talk. -- source link
