As magic bled back into the world, it brought upheaval and change. But even as the dragons rose from their slumber, and humanity found itself divided into men, elves, dwarves, orks, and trolls, even stranger forces were afoot. Fortunately, not all were malevolentAs Earth entered the Sixth age, the magic that propelled it forward was not content to remain on our biosphere alone. It spread outwards, for the most part having no effect on the mostly empty void of space. The exceptions that came to be known on Earth first was the totem of the Moon Maiden, the ever changing lunar goddess whose silver gaze was never content to remain in one place for long.And further away, the oldest entity native to our corner of the universe ceased resting, and directed its attention to the tiny blue world that was tied to its gravitational pull. It went by many names, Sol, Magec, Yhi, Hyperion, Marici, and a thousand more. It was both father and mother to all life, its warm gaze having beckoned the first stirrings of creation to blink, and step forth into the light. Ekhi, as she called herself then, treasured the blue gem that had formed in her once lifeless domain, and watched as it became one of the very few places that all stars treasured. As the flow of magic ebbed and waxed, Shapash awoke to see the shape of life change and grow, again and again.But something was different in this age. Darkness had gripped the Earth, and Helios was not content to watch the cradle of life wither and die. Thus, Saranyu reached out, and found those among us who could carry their light into dark places.Quietly, the agents of Awakened Sun felt its guidance, and each began their crusade to push back the shadow. Bearing the colors of light piercing darkness, they fought as warriors, inspired as artists, mended wounds as healers, and more. And step by stubborn step, they mean to take the world from the evils of tyranny, exploitation, and corruption, so that something better might grow in its place.((Inspired by my idea of solarpunk paladins, this is my homebrew and probably way too improbable Shadowrun faction.
