dont-talk-dirty-to-me:I have no commentary for this and I don’t feel there’s a need to involve this post with the discourse so I’m keeping it out of the discourse tag and I’m posting it in the positivity tag.[Image Description: Screenshots of an anon message that reads “Hey, I saw your response to that handshake post almost crying (it might be very very old by now), and I just want to let you know as a veteran of the LGBT community in volunteer capacity for many years, staring down thirty: asexual exclusionary rhetoric does not exist in the real world like it does here on tumblr. I have never understood why it’s so rampant here, but as a certified non-Ace mlm I can assure you, in actual physical spaces, asexuality is one hundred percent a qualifier for lack of a better term. I have heard the term cishet aces spoken out loud a grand total of three times in my years in these spaces. Twice said by a volunteer mockingly, to condemn the attitude and term, and a third time by someone worried if they would be welcome. The elders in our community that actually run these spaces are usually not ace, and may not even have a firm understanding of asexuality, but even then it has never EVER been the response to exclude and wait and see.
