killingtherivergod:Dearest Friend,I’m gonna be honest with you. The truth is that I’m frightened. Truth is most mornings I wake up terrified to be in my own skin, terrified of what others will think of me, terrified that when I check the news there’ll be another headline, another hashtag, another innocent, frightened teen taken before they had the chance to spread their wings. So to all my fellow trans friends who are in a rough spot right now, this one goes out to you. Because you’re here today, and that’s what matters. Because every day you are here matters. Because every day you are here you contribute another ray of light to the wild landscape of the universe. Because you are made of starlight and you deserve to shine and shine and shine. Because there’s love for you, and even if you struggle to find it from those around you or from yourself, I want you to know that I love you. I’m here for you. You are so beautifully, deeply, incredibly important. I’m proud to be a part of this community, to stand shoulder to shoulder with you, because we’ve both known our wars and our forest fires, and you know what? We’ve survived. We’ve made it home with the armor still tied around our shoulders and with the taste of phoenix ashes and regrowing flowers in our mouths. Maybe I’m afraid sometimes. Maybe you’re afraid sometimes. But we’ve made it through so many things. And we can make it through so many more too. Keep your head up and hold on as tight as you can. Life’s gotta reward us someday, right? The fear isn’t so bad as long as we have each other. We’re the real superheroes in this city.Happy Transgender Day of Visibility, your man Keaton -- source link
