your-url-is-problematic:stoneandbloodandwater:stoneandbloodandwater:omgthatdress:Linda Carter is INDEED the queen of the Amazons here!#SOMEONE WHO CAN READ HEBREW TRANSLATE HER CROWN FOR ME PLEASETook me a minute to find a good image of the right side, but it says“לעולם אל תשכחתי”(line break to align the words right-to-left)which is pronounced, “l’olam al tishchachti” (hard ch) and Google translate says that means, “I never forgot” (lol my guess was “I will never forget” which shows wtf I remember about Hebrew tenses these days).y’all, i gotta be publicly Wrong On The Internet right now. the crown actually says:“לעולם אל תשכחי”i.e. “l’olam al tischachi” which means “never forget”. it doesn’t mean, “never again” which is how I’ve seen some new outlets translate it, though.anyway, Lynda Carter is still bae for indicting the Church for their 1500 years of hatred, exile, torture, degradation, and murder of Jews in front of all your faves, never letting all the rich kids play bdsm pope without reminding them that the opulence of Rome was stolen from murdered dissenters. i’ve been thinking about this all day, i love it so damn much.hey! Hebrew speaker here :)thing is, לעולם אל תשכחי does translate to “never forget”, but it’s more than that. it’s not a passive reminder- it’s written in the tense that makes it a commandment. apart from that, interestingly enough, it’s written in the female- meaning that it’s a commandment spoken to a woman, telling her to never forget, which makes it even more personal. I don’t think I know exactly what it’s referencing or who the commandment is for, but I found it fascinating that it’s both in the commanding tense and in the female. -- source link
