Emily Brontë composed her poems on small scraps of paper, and later copied and recopied them into notebooks. She was 21 years old when she made these copies in late 1839. These formed part of a notebook, which was later rebound by T J Wise, a collector of Brontë manuscripts. This volume is the sole surviving manuscript source for nine of Brontë’s poems. | @britishlibrary -- source link
