evergreensoulthings:Life is wonder full, and the soul longs to dwell in the fullness of wonder. She isn’t very interested in acquiring information or even knowledge. She doesn’t seek to understand or to be understood or endeavor to improve or fix. The soul doesn’t care to evaluate, analyze or critique, so rather than reviewing and debating Important Matters, she prefers to gently ponder life’s mysteries and attend to the often dismissed particulars of daily living. She yearns to savor. She is enthralled by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, enamored with the music of birds singing. She is moved by the melancholy beauty of the last leaf tumbling to the ground from a tree in autumn, and swoons at the touch of textures that swirl through a handcrafted table or pottery bowl. Attending to the soul’s interests may seem trivial to many. After all, we’re supposed to always be ‘gearing up,’ making and advancing goals in order to ‘get somewhere,’ and what the soul cares least about is being a winner in the eyes of the world. If we make a home in the shallow and dark cultural boxes that are being constructed for us, the soul will be neglected and malnourished. Food for the soul must include regular servings of beauty and love and glimpses of the Eternal. This nourishment surrounds us, a banquet awaits, but only if we reject the boxes, explore the world’s magic, and honor the mysteries of our own heart and soul.~ Evergreen Art: ‘Coffee II’ - Maria Pavlova Stanislavovna (with thanks to @storyhearts-journey for this wonderful painting). -- source link
