poseidion:Urania (Οὐρανία; meaning ‘heavenly’ or ‘of heaven’) was, in Greek mythology, the muse of astronomy, able to foretell the future from the arrangement of the stars. She is often associated with Universal Love and the Holy Spirit, and those who are most concerned with philosophy and the heavens are dearest to her. Eldest of the divine sisters, Urania inherited Zeus’ majesty and power and the beauty and grace of her mother Mnemosyne. “Men who have been instructed by her she raises aloft to heaven (ouranos), for it is a fact that imagination and the power of thought lift men’s souls to heavenly heights.” - Diodorus Siculus, Library of History 4. 7. 1 (trans. Oldfather) (Greek historian C1st B.C.) Poem is from An Ode To Music by James G. Percival -- source link
