The Vancouver Sun reports that the city of Vancouver has unveiled its first permanent rainbow crosswalk, at the corner of Davie and Bute (if you’re familiar with the Davie Village neighborhood, it makes sense), kicking off this week’s Pride festivities. The week culminates in next weekend’s 35th annual Pride parade, one of the biggest in the world, attended last year by 650,000 people and featuring over 150 floats. I understand that opinions on Pride and what it has become are divided, but on a purely visual level it’s hard not to enjoy that splash of color on the ordinarily grey pavement. -- source link
