In northern Mozambique, there have been increasing attacks on Christians and churches in recent months. On October 31, the entire editorial team of Community Radio of São Francisco de Assis - a Catholic radio station - was forced to flee for their lives and hide in a forest due to a violent attack by insurgents in the district of Muidumbe in the province of Cabo Delgado. The nine journalists and their families sent messages to the parish priest from the forest saying things like:“We are dying of thirst and hunger, three days without eating anything… with my grandchildren.”“Father, the situation is still bad. I’ve been in the woods with my family for five days. We are in very bad condition.”“My father was beheaded…”It has been very hard for Open Doors teams and others to confirm these reports, because journalists have limited access to this remote area.In early November, there have also been multiple reports of beheadings in northern Mozambique.Pray for the Lord’s grace to all affected Christians in northern Mozambique. -- source link
