Bosnian partisans of the 15th Majevičke Brigade meet with wounded fellow insurgents of the 2nd Dalmatinske Brigade during the Battle of the Sutjeska, in which approximately 127,000 Axis German, Italian, Bulgarian and fascist Croatian forces unsuccessfully aimed to destroy the main forces of the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia near the Sutjeska river in south-eastern Bosnia. Part of the larger Axis operation, Case Black, the Battle of the Sutjeska took place from 15 May 1943 until 16 June 1943.
