Danish volunteers of the Free Corps Denmark (Danish: Frikorps Danmark) pose for a group photograph during the Battle for Velikiye Luki. The Free Corps Denmark was a collaborationist corps of volunteers created by the Danish Nazi Party (DNSAP) in cooperation with Germany to fight in the Soviet Union. Although Denmark was invaded and occupied by Germany on 9 April 1940, approximately 6,000 Danish men joined the corps; most of them members of the Danish Nazi Party.
