Most of this probably isn’t interesting to anyone, but sometimes it feels nice to write a bit about the stuff that you have done. In February this year I drew a bunch of pages (25) in my Squidology comic. Then I put it away for a few months. And in July I picked it up again. The aforementioned pages still needed some colors. Then I put it away again. And now I’ve started working again. Sometimes I get a bit blind and have to get some distance to a project. I try to keep the series “evolving” all the time as Ashtar the Squid, Osirunet and Enki the lizard man are hustling through alternate spaces, dimensions and realities. I have a good feeling about it. And I’m really looking forward to draw a lot of the stuff I have planned. From now on I think I will settle for a “South Park style” update schedule in the Squidology comic. There will be a roughly “10 week season” a year. Weekly updates for 10 weeks when I have a chapter ready and then seemingly quiet for a long time. This will most likely be around December/January.I’m not exactly the fastest artist/writer out there. A page usually takes 6-9 hours to draw. And that is just the lineart. And I don’t have as much time on my hands as I used to. One of the reasons is that I do some work that are not drawing related (which is also great!). Another reason is because it has just been summer. And much of the summer my head is filled with old cars. Working on them, driving them and going to car shows. There are a few bigger shows and meetings that I always go to. But the smaller informal meetings can be very fun too. One of the pictures is from last night. A nice 20 minutes drive from where I live is a small town where we VW nuts have a monthly get together. Last night we were 16 cars. The darkest picture is from an old train station that lies a 5 minute drive from my house. Here a local amcar club arranges a “cars and coffee” meeting every wednesday through the spring, summer and early autumn. The car in the background is a 1960 Chevrolet with airride. The one in the foreground is my 1971 VW 1302S, or super beetle as it is called in the US an other places. But we usually call her “miss Blue”. I’ve owned her since I was 15.The loaf with wheels in the last picture have taken up a lot of my time lately. It is a family project that we work on together. The first goal is to get the engine to run properly, rebuild the brakes, put on some new shocks and tires and get her road legal again. Then she will be converted into a camper. Nothing fancy. Just a nice place to sleep and cook when we are out travelling. And after that we will make her look straight and shiny on the outside. We plan on making the first trip next summer. If you are still here, thank you for watching and reading! -- source link
