yuffah:I was about to make a serious post about Dante Week, but then I remembered one thing… So I decided to make a post about Dante in pop colture, more precisely, one of the biggest fandoms I’m in.Dante from Devil May Cry and Dante’s Inferno are probably the most well known gaming references to the Sommo Poeta, but here’s something that not everyone may know. There is and entire Yu-gi-oh! cardgame related archetype based on the Inferno. (All of the informations and pics are courtesy of yugioh wikia, from the page of the “Burning Abyss“ Archetype). It is mostly a DARK type archetype, with monsters which are direct reference to Alichino, Calcabrina, Ciriatto, Graffiacane, Rubicante, Scarmiglione. Let’s not forget Dante (a rank 3 monster!) and Virgilio, much way prettier than they have ever been in their lives, which are LIGHT type monsters, as opposed to the cards based on demons. The effects of all the cards listed above are somehow connected to the graveyard of the played. And speaking of the Demons of Inferno, Final Fantasy IV also has reference to them! Calcabrina, Rubicante, Barbariccia, Cagnazzo and Scarmiglione are all characters of the game. (thank you, FFWiki) -- source link
