Here is your periodical reminder that there are some extremely small geckos out there. This is an adult Lygodactylus heterurus sitting on my thumb. This species is native to northern Madagascar, but Lygodactylus is actually quite a large genus that includes many species distributed across Madagascar, mainland Africa, and even a couple species in Brazil! We have no idea how they got there. We have an ongoing project together with American colleagues looking at the diversity of this intriguing genus of tiny geckos.
