This arc is seriously my favorite since Water Seven. I mean just look at this. This flashback was first given to us from the perspective of Rebecca, but, since the memory of her father has was stolen from her years ago, when she told the story he wasn’t there. And since that version was told to us first, we, as the reader, didn’t realize he was missing either (especially since we saw him involved in his toy form and just assumed he wasn’t in the first shot since he must have been busy fighting badies elsewhere at the time). But then we do end up getting the same story from Kyros perspective and realize he was with his family to the end all along; they just couldn’t remember him. I haven’t felt this emotional resonance from One Piece in a while, so it’s like I’m falling back in love with the manga all over again. -- source link
