#Repost @brownenvironmentalist (@get_repost)・・・Erasure. We see examples of this historically and (very) presently. The above is an attempt to name. For the next few posts, leading up coincidentally to our team reveal, we wanted to talk about the power of naming and the privilege behind the ability to. Erasure takes many forms, and for marginalized communities it is so crucial that we do not go unnamed. That we do not allow others to erase our presence, our leadership, our contributions, or our stories. It’s why we need more movements like the #SayHerName campaign — because it is through voicing that we build resiliency, honor those before us, and cultivate change. Thank you to all who do the work of naming and do not let allow themselves or others to be silenced. Y’all inspire us.//\\//If you feel so inclined, please share via DM/comments some recent experiences of erasure that you have faced, and we will share (anon or w/ credit). Also, did we miss anything on the above? Let us know via comment/DM, too. ....#brownenvironmentalist #naming #privilege #erasure #criticalecology #share #dontbelazy #knowyourhistory #staywoke #BGWB #knowledge #be #thepowerofnaming #outside #outdoors #post #thursday -- source link
