The “Liberty Bell" that rang in the birth of the United States of America on July 9, 1776 and has pealed for the inauguration and death of every American president since was feared to be severely damaged after a fire engulfed the Middle Collegiate Church, New York, where it hung, on 5 Dec. 2020.The church bell was cast in Amsterdam in 1729.The flames destroyed stained glass windows designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, whose father founded the jewellery business Tiffany & Co.Middle Collegiate Church (est. 1891) is believed to be the longest continually active congregation in North America. -- source link
