Created by Franz Pfannl of Austria in 1910, a watchmaker by trade, the Kolibri pistol fires a 2.7mm centerfire cartridge. The bullet weighs an astounding 2 grains and can penetrate 10-40mm of pine board. While not practical for any self-defense purpose the main function of the gun was as a rare novelty and to demonstrate the superior manufactering abilities of the Kolibri company, who also manufactured more traditional automatic pistols.
