hellotailor:I LOVE THESE TWO SO MUCH ALREADY.I thought this was really interesting because I wouldn’t have expected this kind of misogyny from Osha. It’s not as though she believes that women can’t or shouldn’t use weapons, that women can’t be powerful or be leaders (that’s the position she’s in right now, though I suppose she may not look at it that way). It doesn’t seem like Wildlings exclude women from combat, and Ygritte seems to be treated equally and with respect, though we haven’t really seen other aspects of Wildling culture (and I can’t believe they mean that dude with his incestuous harem to be representative).I can’t decide if this is a hint as to Osha’s background (whether it’s a family thing or the particular place she grew up), or if they just really wanted to get to the “Some people will always need help. That doesn’t mean they’re not worth helping” line (which I found a little heavy-handed, but whatever) and didn’t find a better way to do it. -- source link
