Anafiotika, Athens Τhe Anafiotika was built in the 19th century by workers and craftsmen from the island of Anafi, who came to Athens to work at the numerous construction sites. They started to build their homes the way the always did at Cyclades. Now the whitewashed little houses, with colourful doors and windows, a labyrinth of narrow uphill streets, with little stairways carved out of the rock, blossoming pots and lazy cats make up an idyllic Cycladic scenery situated at the foot of the Acropolis.
