The dead man’s switch sounds a lot more ominous than it is - basically, it’s there in case the engineer has a medical emergency. That way they can override things, get the train stopped, make sure the passengers are safe, and get the engineer medical attention. If there’s only one person in the cab, it’s actually a really important safety feature. You might also be interested in train protection systems, if this is up your alley! I’d also recommend reading about positive train control and cab signalling.Of course, this is the Pokemon universe we’re talking about, so you don’t have to be exact. Things in Pokemon have always been technologically ahead of the real world, so you can be a bit flexible! These trains aren’t quite normal - Emmet has dialogue in Masters explaining how unusually durable the cars have to be because people are literally battling inside the cars - so you can probably make things a bit more advanced than they are in the real world. -- source link
