It’s just to make you look good even though you’ve behaved like…Honestly, there are opinions flying around about it everywhere, but I think of course Sherlock had to laugh this off afterward, they’d never have said it otherwise. Never. It had to be a very careful bubble for either of them to get this out. I don’t think the fact the bomb aspect was a lie negates a single sentiment.One thing that really annoyed me about this scene, actually, was the “cut to canon” when John was talking. I wanted to hear what BBC!John Watson would say to Sherlock, not ACD John Watson. It felt a bit, well, lazy to me. Like, it’s too difficult to actually think of what this John would say to Sherlock thinking it might just be his last words to him, so I’ll just go take these famous words from the end of FINA.
