As part of my Online Fandom class this semester, I recently deployed a survey (mostly shared here on Tumblr!) that asked about a number of topics that students were interested in (which is why there were questions about very specific fandoms, as well as some about fanworks generally!). I’ll be posting various findings from that survey here on Tumblr, so feel free to follow along! And if you signed up to be emailed about findings, I’ll wait until there are a bunch of posts like this and then send out one email for everyone. Some of these findings are simple (like this one!), others will be based on analysis done by me, and others will be based on analysis done by students in my class. First up: What are the top and bottom Star Wars films, according to survey respondents who identified as Star Wars fans? We gave respondents a list and had them choose their top 3 and their bottom 3.What is interesting about this data to me is that there isn’t a direct correlation between the two. For example, Solo seems to land in the middle for people - barely anyone’s favorite, but also not that common a least favorite. But I think it’s safe to say that the originals will always be close to fans’ hearts. <3 -- source link
