From Adire African Textiles: (detail) “This Ewe woman’s cloth is a good example of one of the rarest styles of Ewe weaving in which the design is entirely made up of narrow weft faced stripes in a great variety of colours. White stripes break these up into related groups but there seems to be no overall colour layout programme, rather there is an elaboration of stripes in subtly different combinations. Dates from circa 1920s. Measurement: 92 inches x 46 ins, 234cm x 116cm” -- source link
