We are currently accepting applications for the Brooklyn Museum’s Museum Education Fellowship Program. Each year, we invite promising young professionals to join our education staff as Education Fellows. This ten-month salaried position runs September 2017 through June 2018 and is open to individuals who recently completed undergraduate or graduate studies.Through training and hands-on experiences, Museum Education Fellows gain in-depth fieldwork experience designing, facilitating, and teaching programs that address the needs of adult, school, youth, and family audiences. In addition, Museum Education Fellows receive professional development training and conduct original qualitative research. Museum Education Fellows leave the 10-month program with extensive experience teaching and programming for a variety of audiences, and with a completed professional teaching portfolio.Successful candidates must demonstrate an interest in art, education, and museums; an investment in working with diverse museum audiences; a commitment to teaching with art objects; support for the Brooklyn Museum’s mission and collections; and experience teaching and/or programming in formal or informal learning environments.Applications for the 2017-2018 Museum Education Fellows program are due Friday April 7, 2017.
