Our 2015 Brooklyn Artists Ball will once again feature artist-created immersive table environments.
Our 2015 Brooklyn Artists Ball will once again feature artist-created immersive table environments. However, unlike years past which tapped a new crop of artists each time, the gala’s fifth incarnation welcomes back eight previous participants to create larger scale installations for this year’s festivities. We will be spotlighting each of these artists over the next few weeks.FAILE is a collaboration between Brooklyn-based artists Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller–their name, an anagram of their first project, “A life.” While painting and printmaking remain central to their approach, over the past decade FAILE has adapted its signature mass culture-driven iconography to a vast array of materials and techniques. Their wide ranging multimedia practice, recognizable for its explorations of duality through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage, blurs the line between “high” and “low” culture.Having participated in the 2013 Artists Ball, FAILE returns once again with an installation inspired by their own artistic process. Looking to different kinds of tables used in the studio, their #BKArtistsBall table environments will resemble the very light tables they use to expose their silkscreen prints. Not only can we not wait to see these illuminating works at the Ball, we’re also excited to for the visually dynamic and interactive installation they’re bringing to the Museum this July – Stay tuned for details! -- source link
