weirdpolis:Orszak Trzech Króli (parade of the Three Kings/Three Wise Men/the Magi)In Poland on the 6th of January many towns organize parades celebrating the Epiphany feast, known also as the Day of Three Kings. People gather in costumes of knights and nobility, renaissance-like clothes and folk costumes. Parade is lead by actors portraying Three Kings and during the event there are reenacted scenes from Bible, like their visit at Herod’s palace and homage to newborn God in manger. Also along the road there are “angels of God” encouraging to continue their travel, and “demons” trying to stop them. The event ends up in collective carrol’ singin. Sources of pics:1.
