Known by some as “the wickedest man in the world,” his life long work with the occult influences practitioners and other neopagans to this day. In the early 1900s, Crowley developed the religion of Thelema and continued to evangelize it his whole life. His beliefs reflected a far-reaching mix of world religions and philosophies. His spiritual beliefs made him a controversial figure, but he also found time for mountain climbing and allegedly spying for the British government.
