thoodleoo:in today’s edition of “weird, obscure latin texts,” i present to you all the pugna porcorum of publius porcius poeta, pictured above in a portrait from a mid-18th century text called nugae venalesthe pugna porcorum is a bizarre little text from the 16th century, strange for two reasons. 1. it’s a 250 line poem about pigs fighting, and 2. every single word in it beings with the letter “p,” down to the footnotes (with the possible exception of one footnote, though it is hard to tell because the only copy i could find is not of great quality and is missing a page)if you were wondering, no, i don’t have any idea, either. but you have to admit it’s kinda fun. -- source link
