Did you know? The Malayan tapir (Tapirus indicus) is the largest species of tapir. Full-grown adults may weigh up to 1,000 pounds (450 kilograms), or more! Its black-and-white coat is a form of camouflage, protecting it from predators looking for a meal in dimly lit forests. Juveniles have auburn fur with a white pattern, which helps them blend into their surroundings. This species is currently listed as endangered due in part to habitat loss.Photo: Rufus46, CC-BY-SA-3.0, Wikimedia Commonshttps://www.instagram.com/p/CLdqBvJgGFZ/?igshid=qrca0zv6ycs2 -- source link
