Opera buffs and library lovers alike had a grand time atthe Brooklyn Museum’s special program on the Verdiopera Aida entitled: TheGrand Temples of Egypt: From the Brooklyn Museum to the MetropolitanOpera.This event was presented in honor of the 80th anniversaryof the founding of the Brooklyn Museum’s Wilbour Library of Egyptology. Authorand Aida specialist Will Berger, along with Dr. Edward Bleiberg,Curator of Egyptian, Classical, and Ancient Near Eastern Art at the BrooklynMuseum, discussed Aida and how Ancient Egyptinfluenced this important musical masterpiece.
