Don’t be — many of them wear padding for photoshoots. !Well that’s just fucking stupid. wowww, what??I FUCKING KNEW IT LMAOOO.. OMG AND SOM MUCH MORE BODY BINDING LIKE CORSETS.. SPANX ETC ETC“They come as a set — pairs of flesh-colored butt, breast, and thigh pads, along with a spandex girdle to stuff them in — and are packed in a little, black bag. They’re part of the standard equipment a plus-size model carries. Sabina, who’s about a size 12, often needs pads to fit the size 14 or 16 samples of clothing that she’s asked to model. This is not uncommon: She says she uses pads in about half her shoots, and all the models we spoke to have used them. “…I’m somewhere between 14. I’ve been a 16 and I have been killing myself over the years to look like these women that aren’t even freakin real…This is so grimy man. I’m hurt. Like if you knew the things I’ve done to try achieve a flat stomach^^^^^^^^^^^^ And this is why folks have “The Right Kind of Fat” image in their heads! The no-belly, perfect-thighs, no-cellulite, smaller arms, rounded in all the right place fat girls. YES these kinds of women do exist, but they aren’t the ones being photographed. Smaller girls in fat pads are. And it is wicked painful when folks wonder why you can’t be the plus sized girl in the magazine.Right. This is what Drake was talking bout when he said he likes his woman BBWDrake ain’t about this life… I wish he would get back to crying on tracks about Nicki not giving him a tick of her time and stop singing about BBW. Right!…and oh my Godit makes so much sense now why these broads never have double chins. EVER. They aren’t big. They are thick, with padding and stockings on. Photoshopped to be even smallerA lot of what i’m seeing in the models’ commentary is this whole “well i was too fat to be a straight sized model, but now people say i’m too skinny to be a plus size model, i don’t know where i fit in.”boo fucking hoo. you still have a job in modeling and more of a chance than i could ever fucking hope. and if you’re a size 12, then i don’t think you should be modeling clothes made for a size 14 or 16 and up.You should model clothing meant to fit a size 12 person. the clothing and modeling industry should be tasked with having people a size 12 and under model clothes that are made for people a size 12 and under, and stop putting them in clothes that are made for people my size, sold in stores that these models would never fucking shop at if they weren’t paid representatives of them… because they don’t have to shop at these places. for the most part they can fit a size L.I’m so tired of this crap. I mean I’ve known for a good while that the plus size industry is just the same as the straight size one, just with uglier clothing, I’ve known it for awhile. But it continues to irritate me and honestly these models saying things like “i don’t think it’s a bad thing per se/it’s just to fit the clothing” makes me want to gag. This makes me really sad. I didn’t know this We talk a lot about how models and things you see in magazines or on tv aren’t real bodies. Everything is photoshopped and manipulated. This includes plus sized models. The “sexy plus size model” is a created look. Don’t ever compare yourself to the bodies you see anywhere, even on tumblr. -- source link
