Hundreds of fae were being murdered, with no end in sight to the warring. In an attempt to curb the raiding parties, and prevent the corruption of magic within the gate stone system, the Wilder experimented with a power they did not truly understand. The resulting clash of untried casting and the innate power of the gate stone in the kingdom of Dul Caldor, resulted in a stone that no longer transported fae, but their souls.
